Bora 1.9 pdtdi 130 bhp - Fuel consumption - karak

Hey guys,

Do you think Is the 36 mpg in city an acceptable consumption,or is it to high for a 1.9 pdtdi Bora 6 speed,130 bhp?

Thank you

If it is in very heavy traffic probably yes. This car should do 50 mpg at motorway speeds or 50+ at A road speeds easily.

That's abysmal.

My Passat with the same engine never drops below 45mpg and easily tops 50+ in mixed driving. Cruising in sixth gear on motorways and it's high 50s and early 60s.

Still not If I only drive only 1 mile to work, and an other 1 to back home?
Need to stop 3 times during the one mile at traffic lights..

Why do you use a car for a one mile journey?

In those conditions 36mpg is pretty good. My old Passat PD130 manual used to give 33-35 on my 3-mile commute to work.

It's the engine being cold and the stop-start work.

1 mile drive in a in a 1.9 130 bhp ? and you expect decent fuel consumption for about a half hr walking slow.(wind up) :)

I'd be lucky to get 32mpg out of my diesel Octavia for such a short journey.

Unless you are disabled, walking might be better for you and the car.
