I'm been searching the internet looking for an answer to this, but so far without a conclusive answer.

I'm off to the states soon and have an E-Class E55 lined up to drive when I get there thanks to a pal of mine. The only problem is that I've just found out that I'll be transporting some art in long tubes which won't fit in the boot.

From what I've read, it'll be unlikely that it'll have split read seats, but does anyone know if they at least have an opening behind the centre armrest? I guess I can do the old 'inbetween the rear passengers and front seats', but I'd rather ntot if I can avoid it.
