Ford Puma - Puma wiring loom problem - surely it can be fixed! - lasjholl

I had a very minor bump in my 1.7 Puma last September, and, after repairing the bodywork myself, it would not idle without any throttle.

Apparently it has minor damage (couple of severed wires) to the engine bay wiring loom, particularly the immobiliser. Of course, because its the immobiliser the wires are all black so mechanic stumped.

So, I took it to Crewe Auto Electrics before Christmas. It has been there ever since, as the bloke reckons it is very difficult to get hold of the necessary codes from Ford. He's just been fobbing me off for 3 months now.

Is it really true that I may have to scrap an otherwise good car because of a couple of broken wires?

Is it feasible that I could get a loom from a breaker and just swap it for the damaged one? Can it be that simple?
