I have a Mercedes C Class ('Spirit') R-reg (1998). The problem I am experiencing is with the windscreen wipers:

On the 'intermittent' mode, it begins and stops in the middle of the windscreen as oppose to covering the whole windscreen. On the 'half speed' and 'full speed' it operates normally i.e. covering the whole windscreen.

Question: On the intermittent mode when it stops in the middle of the screen, are there any adjustments I can make so that it operates normally?

You need to take the central mechanism apart, clean and lubricate it.

This is the sort of task which isn't in the MB official service procedures, but which a good independant garage will undertake - ideally, it needs to be done every couple of years or so.

Does the wiper arm park in the correct position when switched off?Should be driver side.

When my old Cavalier suffered this sort of fault only on intermittent wipe it was the wiper relay in the fuse box that needed replacing.
