Calcium battery in a car that doesn't need one? - Diamond
I have a '99 Focus that uses a calcium battery. Would there be any issues in putting the old calcium battery from this into another older vehicle that uses a standard lead acid battery, specifically a Toyota Carina?

Can be used on any systems-even 3 brush dynamoes-many manufacturers are now only making "calcium" types.

My understanding is that calcium battery systems use a higher intial charge voltage, so although calcium battries will work in a 'normal' system and vice - versa neither situation is optimum.

Used one in 1993 Peugeot 106 diesel for two years. No issues.

Calcium allows them to be charged faster (at a higher current) but this is in no way a necessity for their well-being.
