96 1.8i rev drop - West ham
Hope you can help, When driving in second,third or fourth gear, the revs drop as if there is no fuel getting to the engine, this also happens when you go to stop the car and put your foot on the clutch the revs drop to around 500 and then picks back up..I have changed the fuel filter. It just feels as if the petrol tank is empty or is about to run out of petrol...Just a thought when the spluttering is going on if you change gear up or down then the engine picks up fine... Thanks

Check the rubber isolation gasket/mount under the throttle body has not split thus the engine load effects the size of the leak, quite common at that age. Regards Peter
