87 3.0 Rockercover bolt torque settings ? - robdub
Does anyone know the torque settings for rocker cover bolts on the 3ltre straight 6 and should I use gasket seal when replacing the rocker cover gasket?

For an M103 engine, 9Nm. Just use a new rubber gasket on renewal. Check carefully for oil leaks at the semi-circular cut-out at the back of the head after installation with the engine running.

Or, if you haven't got a torque wrench - not too tight.

Over-tightening causes some cam covers to distort, leading to leaks.

Make sure both surfaces are clean and smear some fresh engine oil on both before assembly.
