There's a small ad in Auto Freeway for a 97 Vectra, taxed and tested, described by its trade seller as an excellent run around for £595.

Only thing is, the pic shows the car on the back of a recovery truck.

Perhaps he collected it on the truck rather than drove it back? Top marks, all the same, as he could have waited the 90 seconds it takes to unload from the truck.

I recently saw a sub £1000 Audi A4 advertised in Auto Trader as 'mint'. In the photo the bonnet and front was dark blue, the rest of the car was silver!!!

"Mint as in mint humbug then. "

Or perhaps there was a hole in the middle of the car

You turn the key in the ignition then "run around" the front to hear which part is making that horrible grinding noise.

Nope, but as a piece of marketing it is sound.

No publicity is bad publicity and all that. Look how it helped Lada...

I remember the one on Ebay (sure the link was from here) that was photographed upside down in a ditch with "buyer collects".

Reminds me of the advert in the salvage section of Auto Trader a long time ago for an '88 XR3i, total closure alarm and two category I immobilisers with pager function and independent siren... Stolen / recovered! :-)
