2002 2.0 tdci alarm problems - starby
My alarm seems to be going off for no particular reason at the most anti-social times of the day and night i think the nabours now hate me,is there any way of turning the darn thing OFF if there is could someone PLEASE tell me how,i and my nabours would be eternally gratfull

Most common reason is the bonnet switch.
The plunger near the catch sticks and as you slam the bonnet a little dent forms, the plunger then becomes unstuck later on (as it cools maybe ?)and pops up giving a signal to the alarm that the bonnet is being opened. Put plenty of WD40 on and work the plunger up and down. It is very stiff, even when not stuck as it has a strong spring. If you can't free it off, a new switch is required.
