99 2.0 Gearbox - Whacko

Greetings All. Slight concern over increasingly sloppy engagement of first gear from standstill, sometimes it feels as if it's not going to go in. The condition is now spreading to second on the move and I'm wondering if this is wear (121000) or gearbox oil problems. Any advice would be welcome.
