If you already have UK cover from some organisation you may already have a few days European cover included or they may give it to you for some extra £s.

I have a similar issue. My SEAT has European breakdown cover through Seat Assistance so don't need that.
But what I would like is accident only cover in that, if I have an accident, then I get a hire car, of the same size (MPV) to let me carry on my journey.

Most of the deals seem to be "all or nothing".

Afternoon.....

I participated in a 'banger rally' last year (studentbrakeaway) in a 204,000 mile, 17yr old BMW 730i, and took out AA European Breakdown Cover.

I can not speak highly enough of the service we received when the inevitable happened (apprently 204,000 miles and 44c heat outside are a bad mixture) and the side of the engine blew out. We were picked up from the roadside, taxied to a hotel, taken to Europcar who then leant us a brand new Peugeot 207 (yep, we struggled with luggage space). We finished the rally in Valencia, drove to Barcelona and we're flown home to Stansted.

Best £75 I have ever spent (£25 each in fact!)

I know I have said this before on here but when I lived in the UK I found Europe Assist cover was excellent. For a reasonable annual premium you get unlimited cover for Europe trips and, in my limited experience, they are extremely helpful if you end up in trouble.

Definitely worth shopping around. Last time I did it after 10 mins on the web I found comparable cover at half the first quote ( money Supermarket). Also have a look in Tesco at the insurance packs in the store- you buy a pack which gives you cover then activate it- that's also a good deal

Why are the UK services so expensive the German ADAC premium is 75euros covers you in any country in the world in any car, provides flight tickets for upto four people ,hotels upto 270euros a night hire car if required and delivers your car to where you want it to be,the best equiped service vehicles I have ever seen, there service is second to none makes anything the UK offers a little stonehenge.
