When the engine is warm the tickover speed is not constant it seems to vary all the time

A split breather hose, leaking inlet gasket, or a sticking idle speed control valve are some of the possibilities.

Very likely the c/case breather causing the problem.Squeeze one of the breather hoses with a pair of pliers and the idle settles down it is very likely to be the breather.
