1990 3.0 24v - Ignition System - Focus 1.6 Zetec S
Hi,

I need to know what type of ignition system the 3.0 senator uses.
Does it use a distributor/pickup trigger (distributorless) etc?
Does the ECU have any input for advance/retard?
As much info in this area as possible would be greatly appreciated!!

Year? Engine code? 12 or 24 valve?

The Senator was made from '73 to '93 and used a lot of different systems in that time.

Ignition System - Screwloose

That makes it a C30SE: Motronic M.1.5. with a Bosch 0 237 503 009 distributor with the cam position sensor in it, a crank position sensor and the amplifier in the main ECU switching a standard coil.

The ECU will be ignition mapped and knock-sensor modified.
