Do they work on UK cars?
There are some great deals to be had from the USA but are they fully compatible. I have head that the radio frequency's are different so tthey don't work!
Any experience?
Cheers Andy.

Well, basically you have two things to consider.
1) Will it physically fit?
2) Check the granularity of the tuning.
The reason for 2) is that many US car stereos will only tune to even intervals of 200KHz on FM. That is, they will tune to 107.6 and 107.8 but not 107.7MHz so if your favorite radio station is on an odd frequency then you might have problems with reception. Having said that, the factory unit in my Z28 seems to be able to pull in odd frequencies if the signal strength is adequate.
Check the specs carefully and if it tunes to 100KHz intervals you should be OK.
As far as I know, connectors are the same but check the pin-outs before plugging in. If there's any difference, 10 minutes with a soldering iron and heatshrink (or an auto-leccy) will sort it.

Can I just ask?
Anyone bought Alpine stereo's from Hong Kong? Are they ok?
