Need to get four new tryes for my car but it is looking difficult finding any where to stop them :(.
Any ideas? Price would need to be include fitting.
It is only a 1.3 Endura Fiesta ghia but it has alloys which is what is causing the problem.
|
Are they standard Ford Alloys?
If they are it would be unusual for Ford to fit a weird tyre size, 185/60/14's are much more common and cheaper.

Theres loads on Ebay if you cant find anywhere local that sell them. I suspect other internet tyre retailers will do them too. There are plenty about.
|
Most tyre retailers should be able to order mainstream brands for you.
|
What is the 55 thing? Would a 60 fit?
This is the car

You could have edited your own post with the correct link instead of going about it in the apparently lazy way

Plenty available from any tyre dealer.Took my car in,quoted a size and the dealer said"It's an Escort then"so Ford do fit some unique sizes.

Both AA and Kwik-fit websites confirm that size is correct for Fiesta, don't go with the 60s.
|
I am guessing it is because 14" wheels are large for a Fiesta with a standard suspension, so 60 profile tyres may be too big in terms of wheel arch clearance.
|
Alloy wheels either need special shaped weights (which very few tyre fitters have) to cater for the greater thickness of the edge of the wheel compared to steel wheels, or it's just not possible to put weights on the edge because of the shape. I always insist on self-adhesive weights on the inside of the wheel. To get better adhesion I always take the wheels off and wash them thoroughly before going to the tyre fitter.
