hello all, i own a 6 month old astra in star silver and some nice swine has scratched it with a supermarket trolley!
it is not too bad but noticable, any good polish that can be recomended? all i know is t-cut,colour magic, any others??.
i will do the whole car not just the scratch. regards tony

i've used meguiars tech wax, its canny good like and keeps shining even after a quite a few washes.

A scratch from a supermarket trolley sounds like it won't be removed by polish. You could try T-cut or Scratch-X, but it might need a professional job using a rotary polisher. Or some bodyshop attention.

ChipsAway can deal with stone chips, scratches and and bumber scuffs according to a mailshot I received some time ago. Have not used their services myself, though.

In my experience, Colour Magic provides a very short term fix. Once the car is done it looks superb. A couple of washes later and it's back how it was.

meguairs scratch x is a safe to use mild abrasive...assuming you cannot feel the scratch with your finger nail you may be able to improve it with several repeat applications

the key to using scratch x is to get your back into and work the polish....its not a wipe on -wipe off product
