Hi
Whilst driving my MK3 1.4 Astra I noticed a strong smell of burning rubber, figured it wasn't me must have been another car passing, a few miles later I go to use the brakes to find the pedal goes straight to the floor.... (thankfully it wasnt an emergancy!) The brakes appeared to return though they are now very noisey espeicually from the rear drums! Managed to get home without it happening again accept when I got out of the car the burning rubber smell was really strong, was coming from the near side rear arch area.
The brakes have been squealing alot lately and the front pads were done last week for the MOT/Service.
Obviously I am guessig its the brakes, could this be a pricey repair?
Thanks!
