hi i have a vauxhall astra p reg 1.4 ls.when you put your foot on brake it goes down to the floor can any one help,also the temperture dial does not work.

you have a leak??? is there fluid in the resoiver? will it pump up if so there maybe air in the system, more infomation required please, as for temp gauge clean up wire terminal on sensor first or replace. good luck

hi had some one look at brakes and they said ok,but still not sure as have to put foot down quite a way still.where on car is the temp gauge wire terminal located .

Personally I would seek a 2nd opinion. Prefereably before using the car again if you're sure there is a fault there.

From vague memory, looking from the front of the car under the bonnet, it's on the left hand side of the engine, near to and just behind where the top hose returns from the engine to the radiator. It should be screwed into the aluminium housing. There should be a blue wire (it might be blue with a white tracer - can't exactly remember) with a spade connector on the end that clips onto the sensor.

Hi, have you checked the brake fluid level ? You may have a leaking brake cylinder, look under the car and see if you can spot any wetness on the inside of any of the wheel rims (leaking brake fluid) It needs sorting out a.s.a.p. if you are using it. Sorry do not know about the temp gauge. Cheers, Graham.
