Hi....
I am iterested in buying a 92 Civic,1500 LSI and wondered if any of you guys have any info on them? Havent been to see it yet. Like...are they cambelt driven or chain? as on asking the owner, he hadnt a clue, and he`d owned it for 4yrs!

These 3 door 'Japan' Civics are very good cars, and very reliable. They are cambelt driven, but check for rust, especially the leading edge of wheel arches and near sunroof. Sounds like it will need a cambelt change (and a good service) if the owner doesnt even know its got a cambelt! Dont pay over the odds, for a 1992 model, you're talking ITRO £500,

if you buy it make sure you get a steering wheel full cover (security lock) as they are highly stealable due to having no red key on this year and most of the cars that can be knicked by ragging the column down have now been scrapped.
Good cars but really you need to check everywhere for corrosion on this year

Thanks Sprice...
How difficult and what expence is it to have cambelt changed seeing its Japanese!

I would estimate a decent garage would supply and fit a cambelt £200 (tops) all in. Use the fact it needs a belt to knock a few quid off!

To be honest..think it wise to pass on this one..plenty more fish in sea!
