My MG Zs 120 is driving me crazy. Sometimes it misfires as I'm going along for no obvious reason . This will continue throughout the journey. Next day or next time it is started it is fine. Garage can't find anything, no engine lights come on . It also "hunts" when idling often shooting up to 2000 revs then back to 500. Sometimes it sticks at 2000 plus on idle.
I know quite early on if it is going to be a problem . But often it goes 3 or 4 days without a proble. Any yhought s and help would be much apreciated. Cheers

I should try posting this on MG rover Forum
tinyurl.com/nskzy
You should find the answer there without too much aggro.

if you visit mg-rover.org and then do a search in ask the gurus you may find the answer. Seem to remember a similar issue but cant remember the outcome - could be a crankshaft sensor but if the garage has had it then they should have checked this but may be a good place to start if all the ignition components are ship shape!
