Whistling noise - Citroen saxo - sandgrounder

Hello all. Just wondered if anybody could help. I've got a Citroen saxo 1.1i desire, and there is a whistling noise which seems to be coming from the front wheel area. Its not a constant noise, but when it happens it lasts a while. It seems to be when i slow down but also at random intervals. Somebody has suggested it could be something to do with the brakes. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Dave

Does it only occur while pressing the brake pedal/just after,if so may be a leaking servo pipe or servo problem.
Dont know the car but sounds like it,but could be wrong?
