Just been talking to my Brother-in-law ( about recommending this web site, too ) who mentioned an article in a recent Daily Telegraph that discussed 2 or 3 Chinese coal mines that have been burning uncontrolably for many years. One mine, it seems, has been burning for over 130 years and emits more CO2 than the whole of all the cars in Germany put together. Anybody enlighten me on this - seems incredible and puts global sources of CO2 emmissions into perspective perhaps ?

Trouble is, Gordon can't tax Chinese Coal Mines so the miniscule amounts of CO2 pushed out by cars have to do instead.

I bet he's working on it though, goddam it

Anyone who has ever been to China will be able to put the EU nit-picking anti-car anti-pollution stuff into real perspective. The size and scale of everything is almost incomprehensible. BY comparison most EU stuff is mere p---ing in the wind.
