Bought this car recently and it runs strong and it appears(ed) to be a bargain. Noticed however that on starting from cold there is a rumble/squeal (squeal sounds like a fan belt but its not) that goes away if i depress the clutch even slightly. Does this sound like a clutch release bearing? Gear changes are fine and the noise seems to reduce once the engine is warm. The car has done 60,000 and no nothing excessive there and from what i can see from the book has full dealer service up to now.
thanks

Probably completely unrelated, but these cars do have an engine mounts problem - mine were replaced twice in 5,000 mls (I had a 2000 W back in May 2001)
