I'm sure you've all seen the images of Saab 9000's slalom(ming) between cones in succession whilst being put through their paces. Well - I got emailed a link to a video made by Saab years ago and I have to say, it is absolutely amazing. The men driving those cars truly have a gift.

A lot of it is scarily close driving, but wonderfully cheorgraphed and very beautiful to watch. No safety margins, real skill involved.
It's a pity, though, that the poetic bits are mixed up with some tyre-burning sessions -- I could feel my nostrils hurting from the burnt rubber.

As you say, real skill. I can't help but think what would happen if the lead car got a blowout. Still - it is pretty amazing. I'd do anything to be able to drive like that.

What's the file size? About 30 meg? I remember downloading a 200meg program on dial up one time.
Those were the days....

The more I watch this, the more I'm amazed. That shouldn't be possible - it really shouldn't.
However
When they're performing the slalom, a lot of them have their brake lights on but not all. Anyone care to put forward an opinion as to why this might be? At a guess it would be the make the car pitch forward into the turns more but that is just a guess.

The slalom (if you can call it that) without the cones they seem to be going quicker than 30. THe proper slalom with the cones seems to be more than 15mph but when you think how sharp they're turning and as you say Espada, how smooth they are, it can't be far off.
