Humming Clio 1.2 - Al Civic
Hi my wife?s Clio 1.2, year 2000, older shape has developed a low intermittent humming noise, it appears to be coming from transition or steering.
It occurs about 5 minutes after start up. It disappears when stopped or moving slowly. It also disappears when the car is lightly accelerated, but returns as soon as your foot is lifted off the pedal.

Any ideas?

Probably a famous renault wheel bearing. Does it change when you turn the wheel round corners?

Mind you - the rattling sun roof normally masks any noises.

Hi Family, yes it does seem to vary a bit when going round corners. And yes the creaking sunroof is a pain. I will have a check while turning a corner.
