Well, I've taken the plunge and just bought my wife a car on e-bay. 2002 '02' new shape Fiesta 1.4 Zetec 5dr, 29k, FSH for £4500. The car was comprehensively pictured with a detailed description. I think that's an excellent price, a few went through the auction on wednesday for considerably more. Picking it up tomorrow, so fingers crossed.
(Managed to sell the R25 through e-bay as well, very painless)

Best of luck! I recently picked up a replacement motorbike i bought on EBay 3 weeks ago. Honda CBR1000F,1994 M reg,27K,FSH,1 mature owner from new Colour coded Baglux Tank cover and Bag (£150 it self) £1420 when i got to the sellers home on Saturday pleasently surprised chain and sprockets less than 1000 miles old, front and rear tyres less than 1000 miles, heated grips and chain oiler(not disclosed)no damage just in need of a good clean.
Local Hionda dealer has a J reg with 62K on the clock for £1995
"sold as seen" did i get a bargain ? You decide: i think i did.
P.S This was bought on the 3rd E Bay listing having failed to recieve a single bid on the 2 previous listings that started @ £2000 and then £1600.

I've bought a few cars off ebay, always had a bargain, sometimes sell them on. Bidding on one at the mom ent, all I can say is its a no reserve bargain!!

Just had a flick through auto-trader. There's a similar car in a Ford garage for £7500, the average is around £6400. I don't know whether to be really chuffed or really worried at getting it so cheap. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

can you post the link or even the item number so we can all have a look?

I'm a bit inept with anything other than point and click, but the item number is 2493342856.Obviously in the automotive section.

Well you won't know for certain until you go to pick it up, but my feeling is that you've got yourself a bargain! The five page description is so detailed, including a few bad points, that it seems genuine.
Good luck with it! Let us know how it turns out!

Looks like you got a good car & deal there!
Would be interested to hear how the pick up goes, but the seller feedback is pretty good!

Don;t forget that the seller is obviously a trader so you have the same rights as you would had you bought it from a dealer...

Picked the car up yesterday and it's in great condition. All the documentation was in order, with a fully stamped history. The 130 mile drive home was very comfortable and the wife is very pleased. I think I've got a real bargain and could probably make a quick profit, but we'll be keeping the car. The only downside to the day was the three and half hours on a train, a journey that should have taken less than two. No more trains for me, I'll stick to the car!
