Hi, I am looking after a 95 1.5 Civic coupe for a relative at the minute. My problem relates to the temperature gauge.
As the engine warms up the needle rises to just above the c for cold mark but then falls again to the bottom (as if the engine was not running) and then back up to above c then back down etc etc.. However there is plenty of hot air coming from the blowers even when the needle is at the bottom.
I am right thinking the cause is down to a broken thermostat or could it possibly be a faulty gauge? Any advice welcome.

sounds like a faulty connection on the temp gauge sender unit.
