News from the US . Ford recall these three cylinder engines

The recall involves the 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine on the EcoSport and Focus. The recall affects 1,39,790 units. A faulty belt tensioner may lead to loss of oil pressure that could damage or seize the engine.2

Wonder what action Ford in the UK will take? I’d wager that they’ll do nothing whatsoever. We’re just not as litigious as our cousins across the pond. On balance, failure rates are still likely to be quite small and the poor old UK based Ecoboost owner will be left picking up the tab.

Maybe wait until the the number (and cost of) complaints gets to a certain number? Presumably the Fiesta over here would also be affected if the same issue affects cars built elsewhere than just for the North American market.
