Underside Rust Query - Andy West

Hi guys

First time here looking for some general advice if anyone is willing to watch a few minutes of a couple of you tube videos.

I am interested in buying a 25 y/o van (its a camper) which is generally in good condition from a body work point of view. The exhaust needs some work and I am fine with that but would anyone be put off from a rust point of view from what you can see in the videos from the underside?

I have not had it up on a ramp or anything and the videos do not show everything in detail of course - I was just interested in opinions as a lot of the rust appears to me to be surface. My budget for remediation is not an issue and this seems to be the perfect project for me - albeit I am not a mechanic and will get someone else to help with the work.

Considering this is a 25 y/o vehicle, for those with experience, would any of what you see put you off at all (and I fully appreciate you cannot give a 100% answer from the video)?

If it's that old there will (should) be plenty of MoT history to point you to any underneath rust problems ?

Only going back to 2011 - it was imported then. The only failures / advisories its ever had are minor things like worn tyres, doddy wiper blades. Never any mention of corrosion anywhere. It has however not been moved for a couple of years (ran out Sept 2021), so that build up would have been because of that.

My mechanically minded friend is not available for a few days, so I was hoping someone might be willing to give a quick thumbs up / down so I could judge if its best to walk away or not.

Thanks

Not the worst one I’ve seen , but you really need to get it on a lift to check all the corners/crevices of the chassis / body meeting points . This is usually where all the damp and crud accumulate . Not sure about the spiders either.
