Volkswagen Golf R - new wheel - pippic

Any advice.

My partner has a bent wheel on his Golf R, he's got 18' alloys for low profile tyres. He hit a pothole. He's being quoted as £1,000 for a replacement wheel by the VW Dealer - its a 2017 plate.

Is there anyway of getting these any cheaper or does he need to bite the bullet and pay this amount? He loves this car and really enjoys driving it.

We're in South Wales
