600bhp Defender?! - badbusdriver

Reading a magazine I came upon an advert for Nene Overland, a well known Land Rover specialist. The advert had a picture of an engine and above it, said: "Choice of 5 installs - 355bhp manual - 700bhp automatic".

Curious, I went on the website where the listed engine conversions ran to a supercharged 6.2 (GM) V8 with 600 (not 700) bhp.

Still, 600bhp in a Defender?

Remember trying one of these conversions in an armoured classic Defender , after the standard engine failed to cope with the additional weight.
The result wasn't a sucess and I can honestly say it one of the worst vehicles I have ever driven.
Cramped ,noisy and unpleasant to drive.
