BMW 320i 2006 - Reconditioned engine BMW - Loai

I purchased BMW 320i 2006 47k mileage end of June this year, then the engine light started flashing after 3 weeks, returned it back to the garage (3 months warranty) after 4-5 weeks. tried to fix it. the verdict is the car will need a reconditioned engine. it has been more than 130 days and still I have not had my car back (had a courtesy car during this time). I was offered a reconditioned engine plus one-year silver warranty with RAC.

How can I make sure that the reconditioned engine is good ? and Is this a good deal ? what are my options if they did not fix the car on time (mid december) (I have been promised many times I will get the car fixed next week but never happened) ?

Thank you.

If the recon engine comes with a warranty, then that is all the 'proof' you're ever going to get that the engine is good.

I'd suggest you accept the offer, and tell them to get on with it. Talk to them, agree a timescale by which you will have your car back. Agree as to what happens if the car is not ready by that time.

Technically, you could reject the car under the Consumer Rights Act. But you've left it a while, and if they fight it then it could end up in court and costing you money.
