I, too, lost my (only) key for my Toyota Ago last week.
(The car was bought from a Toyota Dealer, only given one key on handover, and have been writing them for 2.5 yrs. without success, to get an extra key :-( !).
Local Toyota Dealer is quoting £1200 to replace ECU, & Locks. Why do Toyota Dealers not order New (Factory) key, on production of V5C, if necessary, and as a matter of course ?. If I could get a Factory Key, a local auto locksmith would program it for £40 !.
