MINI Cooper and Cooper S - Budget Convertible - samuel jackson-royle

Hey, i'm looking at getting a budget convertible for my next car and was considering a 2004/2005 Cooper/ Cooper S convertible. Does anyone have any advice on what to look out for, or any suggestions on other cars I might consider? Looking to spend up to £5k and ideally something that will pretty reliable.

For something like that, at that price bracket, you'd be far better going for an MX-5. Less trendy, but you will get a lot more car for your money.

Agreed a Mazda MX5 is a better buy.

As well as being a better buy, I'd say it has a better imnage, at least for a man!

When I drive a Mini convertible, if there is an image at all it's of a man driving his wife's car. Which indeed I am.

I've heard that engine called the "B M Trouble U" many times for being unreliable and a big oil drinker.
