I just wanted to drop a post in the forum for a bit of assistance. I have recently bought a C4 BlueHDI100 new from a Citroen dealer simply because it was well equipped, comfortable and had exceedingly cheap finance after all the discounts (what can I say, cheapskate). After having a Peugeot, Citroen and Renault before I've never really had problems. The car has covered 2200 miles in about 1.5 months from new.

I have noticed in my last trip to the midlands, the steering feeling abnormally heavy. It doesn't feel like the car is actively fighting me it simply feels a fair bit heavier than it did when I bought it. Upon further testing, Intermittently the steering fails to self center when taking a corner, instead the steering "locks" to whatever lock I needed to navigate the bend. It only begins to center itself around the dead ahead.

It's also intermittently behaving the same in reverse, often allowing me to move backward at some speed with no corrective input at all.

Originally I thought this was a puncture or flat tyre or some such but I'm increasingly concerned there is a power steering fault. Citroen themselves have put the car on a diagnostic machine and taken a cursory 2 minute hop up the road and back finding no fault. They have offered to take the car in for a few days and take it on a few extended test drives; is this worth it?

Would I seem to be making mountains out of molehills?
