SUV till 2007 - Upgrading to a SUV (till 2007) - JoaoRaposo

I have a honda stream 1.7 (petrol). Very reliable car till date. But i am looking for a more versatile car (crossover/suv) and diesel (more mpg).

I am searshing for a reliable crossover/SUV to the date of 2007 (in Portugal cars after thar year pay more taxes).

Looking for advice.

Best to go Japanese: depending on the size you want, Toyota for example have the Verso, RAV-4 and Landcruiser (at least they do in the UK - models and names may be different in Portugal).
