Ford Fiesta 2003 TDI - Fiesta 2003 1.4 TDI speedo working intermittently - Rayparker
Speedo on the above vehicle has an intermittent problem - it only appears to work once we go over a speedbump in the road, and then reverts back to not working again. Where is the pickup sensor for this, and is there any way of testing it?

If the car has abs,then if I recall,speed signal is from the abs unit.If no abs fitted,then there is a speed signal sensor on the gearbox.

Does the mileometer continue working when the speedo stops? If so the fault will be in the instrument, if not its a signal fault.

The speedo and mileometer both stop at the same time.
Is there any way of testing the sender unit.
