Is this the worst example of a callous driver ever ,if he's found guilty should he ever be allowed to drive again .

That seems incredible unless he was in shock.

Isn't Bradford the only place in Britain where the majority of motor cars are uninsured?

I think Woolwich in South east London is as well. The amount of police checks they do in the area and the amount of cars they stop would suggest.

Up to 3 years ago , two bradford post codes BD3 and BD8 were showing 40 % of the cars registered in those areas weren't insured !

Since then there's been a major police campaign to seize uninsured cars ,including an uninsured 60K Ferrari !

However , how does that begin to justify leaving two injured children in your car and disappearing for two days .

What needs to change to prevent driving uninsured ? my trade policy currently costs over a £1000 pa because of these lunatics .

The old adadge of prevention is better than cure clearly doesnt work in this case so the only way is cure. The way forward then is simple, sieze and scrap all uninsured vehicles and incarcerate the drivers and owners. However there is just one problem, who is going to detect the offenders? The government is cutting DVLA staff who have the facility to identfy the uninsured vehicles and cutting funding to the Police who would have had the manpower to chase up the offenders. So what needs to change is Government (of what ever persuasion) who is interested and capable of listening to what the public want and carrying out the wishes of the majority. Its not happened yet and I'm not holding my breath.

You forgot to mention that a driving licence, mot or road tax in not compulsory in parts of Bradford .The police do not bother in case it opens a tinder box.

What is so special about Bradford that it gets away with this?

What else do the Police allow the population to get away with?

The Police are failing to do their duty if Collos 25's comment are true, the commissioner needs to speak up and explain.

The Police in Bradford simply haven't got the numbers or the time to hunt down every offender for no insurance. Some motorists can get away with it for years before they're caught as a result.

Whenever the Police do attempt arrests, they're then told they're racist.

Cuz ov me skin innit blud.
