Ford Mondeo - Mondeo (2003) cuts out - HonestDon

Hi Everyone,

I have a ford mondeo Ghia X 130ps TDCi Diesel (2003) . The car has served me well with 120k on the clock, but it recently has developed a bit of a problem which i'd love your help on.

When driving in third/Fourth/Fifth gear, if I accelarate sharply the "glow plug indicator" starts flashing - In some circumstancse it flashes AND the engine cuts out. However when i restart the engine, the flashing stops.

A bit puzzled by this behaviour and what I shuold do. I'd like to keep the car, its a Ghia X and has served me well.

Would appreciate any thougts and if you need more information I can provide.

The glow plug indicator is the engine malfunction light.Next stop is somewhere that can plug in some diagnostic equipt to find out what is going on.it may be a good idea to get the fuel filter replaced first before going down the expensive route.hth
