Honda accord - Cambelt adjustment - morrlle
Hi, I have recently changed the cambelt and balance belt on my 2000 (w) 1.8 accord. It's the first Honda belt I've changed and apart from getting the crank bolt off it was pretty straight forward.

A whining noise has developed which is definatly eminating from the cambelt area. A quick read online would suggest I've over tightened the belt, so my question is, is there a way of releasing some of the tension without stripping everything down?

Since you fitted the belt you must know what parts need to be removed to get the the tensioner. But normally you need to be able to get to the longest run to check the tension so removal of most covers is usually essential.

All this assumes that the tension is not automatically done.
