ford mondeo - selling - certificate of destruction required ? - mondeoman2013

hi,

I am looking to move on an old mondeo, it is in 'spares or repairs' category.

I was going to sell it as scrap to large dismantler who has given an ok quote over the phone but I suspect this will drop face to face.

A local 'spit and sawdust' garage working from back street but legitimate premises said they would give me a decent price which I'd be happy to accept as I have used them before and will use them again for tyres.

I guess they will strip some parts then weigh in the shell, fair enough by me.

My question is regarding 'Certificate of Destruction'. It seems clear that I need one if I sell to dismantlers.

But do I need worry about it if I sell to garage and they later scrap it ?

Can I just sell to them and fill in section 9 of v5c/3 , and not worry about what they do with it ?

thanks

As they are trade ,have them fill in the yellow part of the v5 on the third page .Then you ,not the garage ,send that off to to the dvla.

Make sure the dvla acknowledge receipt of the segment .After you have a receipt your no longer responsible for the car .
