Hi,

I have a Ford Focus 1.6 zetec on a Y plate and has done approximately 150000 miles. Over the past week or so, the car has started to jump on occasion when at low speeds and pulling away. Radio sounds a bit fuzzy when this happens and the speedometer jumps slightly with the 'door open' light flashing up on the dash. Sounds electrical to me ??

Could someone please point me in the direction of rectifying the problem please....

I have bought new spark plugs and an air filter today which I will fit over the next day or so however, the guy in the shop said it could be the coil packs ?? Any help would be much appreciated :)

Back in the day that would have been the RFI suppressor on the coil playing up. These days that's almost certainly part of the coil pack, so your man is probably correct.

Many thanks for the reply. Will get that looked at asap. Getting worse but still need the car for work use. But best do it the sooner the better. Will keep you updated on the final diagnosis.

Hiya.

Further to my 'thank you' message. I seem to be having a few more problems. Interior lights not working and wiper 'intermittent' not working. Although normal wipers are working are working. Is this all connected ? Please help.
