3008 - Engine management light Software update. warranty - Radam87

Got 5 year warranty expiring in two months. Took car to peug due to orange engine light. Told will need to pay for diagnostics and software update. This usually the case? I know it depends on specifics of the warranty but the wording is very ambiguous. Basically been told anything wear and tear isn't covered.

How do they know it's wear and tear if they haven't run the diagnostics? What are they saying it is?

Generally, after market warranties don’t cover the cost of diagnostic, if they do , then it’s usually a lot less than what the dealer wants to charge . Any software update should be included in the warranty, but I would check your policy very carefully.
