12V Fridge without dual battery? - Bromptonaut

If it only runs while you drive I can't see too much of a problem. Our car copes perfectly well running the caravan's fridge while we drive. The pins in the UK standard 13 pin car/'van connector it uses are only live when engine runs.

We've also run a small cooler box, powered from the car's 12volt aux socket, on long journeys in UK without issue. Again they're only live while engine runs. If the Aux sockets were permanently live as in some previous cars I've had then box would be disconnected for stops longer than service station breaks.

That of course is all in European climates albeit including South of France. Under African conditions then the usual YMMV advice applies!!.
