Have a look underneath, you should be able to see where its coming from. Could be form the valve cover on the cylinder head, that would be one of the easier jobs, or it could be a crankshaft seal - not so easy.

I certainly wouldn't drive it with a low oil level and it sounds as though it needs a change anyway.

I think last time I said if you can't afford to get a new one, you should put oil in your old one.

So I'll say it again.

Oil can leak from an engine in various places, and in the end it will run down (usually the back) and drip off. If it drips off under the bulkhead or further back, there is probably a slow leak whenever the engine is running, and the drips are blown back in the air flow. You'll have to look underneath, but whatever the result, keep the oil up somewhere near the top mark.

If the oil hasn't been changed in a while it needs changing, and it could be the filter which is leaking.

So change the oil (and the filter). If you can't do it yourself, take it to Quick Fit/National Tyre/ATS or your friendly local garage.

If it is still leaking after that, then it will need further investigation
