Removing chewing gum - FoxyJukebox

A couple of times recently I have found that some idiot has spat chewing gum out onto my car paintwork. Once dried(disgusting!) the main bit knocks off but it has left a visible nasty smear. Has anybody got any handy hints on how to remove this without damaging paintwork?

Thanks very much

Autobrite Direct have a product called Just The Tonic (commonly known as JTT).

This is really good for removing all kinds of exterior contamination and it'll be fine to use on chewing gum. It can also be used on interior carpet stains such as oil stains etc.

Thanks!

WD40 worked well--lightly rubbed, not too hard. Next day applied a little car polish for completeness and a shine.
