Mondeo - Code won't confirm - Nik newman

Is there anyone that can please help . I have the correct code for my stereo . I put it in press 5 to confirm then the code numbers need to be entered again and it says wait 30 mins!! I only have a few more attempts then it will be locked!

I'm doing everything correct .. has anyone had this problem and if so can it be sorted out ?

Looks like you have the wrong code for that radio. I would pull the radio out to check the serial number on the label. We can then check for the correct PIN number.

The usual reason for something like this happening is that the code is wrong.

Are you entering the code correctly? Don't forget that a "0" is ten button pushes, not none!

How did you obtain your code? I think you need to obtain the serial number of the radio, preferably by pulling the radio out of the dashboard a couple of inches and reading the SN from the label on the radio.

When you have the serial number if you post it on here someone will check it for you.

Other than that it's possible that your radio could be faulty. Why does it need the code? Was the battery disconnected recently for any reason?

Thanks for replying .

I had a new Starter motor so battery was disconnected . The code is the one in the original book with the stereo which has worked in the past . I will have to get hold of the tools to pull it out before I do anything thrn but I don't know why the code would change ? It must be faulty then .. brilliant !

Codes don’t change , and I doubt the radio is faulty . We’ll wait until you pull the radio out.

You aren't, by any chance, Pressing #5 to enter the code, mistakingly, after entering each separate number, are you? It should, of course, only be pressed once after you've entered the entire four-digit code.

I've actually had people doing that before!

The OP says he's successfully used the code before.

As I see it, there are two possibilities: either he has mis-remembered what he did before, or the radio has developed a fault since he last entered the code.
