Ford Focus MK1 saloon 1.8 - Back Plate or Hub Nut - kesher

I need to check the brake shoes and normally I remove the 4 bolts on the brake shoes back plate. However, I find removing the bolts really awkward and slow due to the restricted space. So I'm prepared to buy a torque wrench (230NM capable) for the hub nut and remove that instead.

Apart from the torque wrench, is there any other downside to getting at the brake shoes via the hub nut? It seems a lot easer to do it this way.

Also what size is the socket for the hub nut? I've seen varying opinions from 29mm, 30mm to 32mm.

THANKS

IIRC the recommended method is to remove the four bolts at the back. I presume repeatedly undoing and re-tightening the hub nut isn't good for the bearing.
