Focus MK2 1.8tdci - Lion batteries - Matthew cooper

Anybody had any problems with Lion batteries from euro carparts? Had mine for less than a year and it's exploded, they wont take back as they say alternator caused the fault so not covered under warranty.

Have you had the alternator checked?

It's more likely the battery manufacturer needs checking - not the alternator, judging by this comment on a Lion battery this user comment on Amazon.

Utter Rubbish - my advice, buy a decent known brand

Thank goodness for the 3 year warranty. Had two of these now, one conked outside of warranty and the second at just over two years. With brands such as Bosch and Varta lasting in excess of 10 years you would only buy one of these if you were wanting to get rid of a car which currently had a duff battery.

Lion Batteries are absolute garbage. I bet there is nothing wrong with the alternator and Euro Car Parts are just trying to fob you off.
