Ford Focus - MOT in NIreland? - Free-man

Anyone ever had a MOT done in NI? Can a British car be MOT'd there?

NI is British and there’s no reason why you couldn’t have any other UK registered car Mot’d there.

Oh I thought NI was the UK but not Britain. Don't they have their own system of MOT and tax etc?

Only difference is that in Northern Ireland, MOT tests are done at Driver Vehicle Agency (DVA) test centres, rather than private garages. I’m sure that’s still the case and no bad thing either as it removes the incentive to fleece you for work that isn’t needed.

We live in United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland had devolution long before Scotland and there are therefore significant differences in law and its administration.

I'd suggest calling the NI DVSA and asking them.
